Knowledge.

Earlier on today, I had to pick an order involving a set of spokes for a wheel. I wanted to check with Ads about the lengths, and simply by telling him the lengths of spoke he was able to tell me which cross for each side of the wheel, which hub, which rim, and which year...

...I'll just let that sink in for a while. Madness.

Brothers, Sisters and Cousins...

New additions to the Tarty box family: Frame box, 20" wheel box and fork/bar box.

As Mark would say: 'Packing time win' (or something with 'win', 'lose' or 'fail' at the end).

2riders1wall.com

Two photos from a little session in Bradford last weekend - both on my bike, first one's me backwheeling a wall with a pretty tight (i.e. less than 3/4 pedalstroke) run-up, and the other is Stan dominating a sidehop to backwheel. I would just like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of Stan's initial post about me going back to mod, and the bike he happens to be riding in this photograph.

Both photos were taken by Tim - cheers dude!

Hrm.

Caption competition?

Echo TR wheels.

These bad boys have been pretty popular in the all-black colourway, but here's a sneaky peek of them in the black/white colourway. Some seriously nice looking wheels, available in a kazillion different sizes and disc/non-disc options now...

Ballin'.

Everyone loves limited edition stuff, so if you've ever thought "Man, I would be really into some orange HS33 levers" - today is your lucky day:

Keep an eye out for the full orange sets that should be available soon. They come with a bunch of awesome freebies too, definitely worth it!

Ashton's Summer

Rowan put this video up today of Team Ashton's summer tour. Gives a pretty good feel for the shows!

Got some photos of a sweet new green Inspired going to one Mr. Rossi later on today - once Adam's got his new behemoth of a computer up and running it'll be all systems go! We'll also have an interesting contrast build too for another customer - another green Inspired, but with gold finishing kit. Should be interesting...

Pool Comp - The Results!

We played the final game of our Pool Comp tonight after work, with the two leaders facing each other in the final 2 games!

It was pretty close but we do have a winner... the final results are:

Ali: 1 win
Mark: 2 wins
Stan: 4 wins
Gav: 5 wins
Adam: 8 wins

Stay tuned for our next competition! Table tennis maybe?

Filming orders?

Steve A filming, Kenny and Stan playing pool, Ali riding? What's going on here?

Unrelated, but there's 45 boxes of Koxx/K-124 win sitting in the warehouse now. Chances are if you want something made by them that we now have it. Should be up on the site soon!

Danny MacAskill

Danny's had a mental year - since that video dropped back in April, sponsorship offers, job offers, trips and opportunities to clock up some airmiles have come in thick and fast. One of those job offers came from S1 Jobs, to film a recruiting video which you can view below:

That video's pretty old now, but this making of video has some fresh bits in it. Made by Dave Sowerby for S1, click here to check it out.

All this mention of Danny probably means our search engine traffic is going to go nuts...

Edit by Adam: But only if you put MacAskill as well :P haha!

Big time.

New vid for Red Bull from Mr. Tom Ohler (I don't know how to do that accent on the O...), doing some strizzeeeeet in NYC:

Shipping.

Like we said earlier in the week, Royal Mail strike action's fully on the go. If you've ordered anything First Class (Or ISF), it's going to take at least an extra 2 days to get to you. As a result, if you want your products sooner (e.g. if you want them for a ride this weekend), please make sure you choose courier delivery. Don't forget - order before our courier cut-off today and you'll have your bits before the weekend. Our couriers only deliver on Saturdays if you pay an extra cost, so today is the last time you can order something and have it arrive this week.

Putting in work.

Stan and I have been pounding the website jobs today. As a result, in the next few days a lot of new product is going up on the site - today, the hottest products are the Gusset seat/post combos (officially the lightest full-sized seat and post setup we sell - over 75g lighter than a Pivotal setup, whilst also being under £30 for the whole setup, which is a fair bit less than a Pivotal setup too) and the sweet new white FiveTens.

Like I said, plenty more coming soon, keep checking back! We've also got some reasonably exclusive (To the trials world, at least) products that should be going live in the next few days that should cause a stir. As ever, any new stuff will appear on the home page so keep an eye on it.

Pimp (Pt. 2)

So, as promised, here are some more photos of that sweeeet Stinger build. It's not Ali's bike (as some people thought), this is just a customer who wanted to build the best bike possible. This was fully a no expense spared build - there's only one steel bolt on the whole bike which is the pivot bolt in the front Hope lever body. Everything else is ti, or alloy where it needs to be (Ti pedal spindles too).

Don't forget, we can make you any custom complete bike you want, so if this bike's tickled your fancy, or you've got some ideas for a build of your own, feel free to give us a call (01772 33 33 32!) or an e-mail (info[at]tartybikes[dot]co[dot]uk) and get the ball rolling...

Pimp.

This bad-boy needs a bit of a grind and some setup tweakage, but it's all built up at the moment - check the weight (Bearing in mind there's no mods at all, and it's a pretty solid build).

More photos tomorrow once it's completely sorted. When Stan was taking this order over the phone he was getting visibly excited about how good it was, and he wasn't wrong.

Baby blue inspiration...

This is approximately our 5 millionth Inspired build to roll out the doors, and is definitely one of the nicest. I'm pretty keen on the blue/white theme!

Team effort...

Riding by Ali, filming by me, edited by Joel Bennett. Big thanks to Joel for the edit and use of his camera and street knowledge. Rad dude!

Royal Mail strikes back.

As you may have seen in the news (or on their site), Royal Mail are taking strike action (again...) on Thursday and Friday this week. As usual, this means that post is going to be severely disrupted at the end of this week, and probably the beginning of next week as the backlog is dealt with. Because of this, we highly recommend that if you order nearer the end of the week, if you were planning on having your order sent out on our First Class/ISF service you upgrade to either APC or UPS UK (or DPD or UPS International for foreign customers) courier services - both of which will not be affected by this strike action.

Ali puts the 'GS' into 'TGS'

Bit of a late Tarty Weekender, but hey ho! Stan and I went over to Bradford, got racially abused and shouted at, but got some filming done. Expect to see the fruits of that labour some time in the future. On the Sunday, Ali, Stan, Martin and I headed off to a blisteringly cold and drizzly Back Cowm. Pretty much 'Stay in by the fire' weather, but we manned up and lines got done. Unfortunately, there's no documentary evidence of that because I fully could not be bothered freezing my hands off in that climate, so here's some photos of a warmer Burnley on Friday night.

London video tomorrow if Joel gets it up (ho ho ho).

(Oh, and a quick apology for how laughably bad the gap photo is...)

A couple of people have asked for background-sized copies of the top photo, so click here for a beasty big one, and here for a wide-screen version.

Pro (Pt. 2)

The first Tarty bike box goes out the door!

Intriguing...

...what's going on at Tarty HQ? Stay tuned to find out.

Guess Who...

A competition without a prize (sort of)... the first person to add a comment with the correct answer to the following question gets their name added to this post! (wow)

Question: Who is this member of Tarty Staff? There are multiple clues in the picture...

This sort of thing is quite a regular occurrence when Ali packs an order for a team rider...

Try-All Stiky Lite

This kinda slipped us by, but an e-mail today meant we spotted it - on Vincent's blog there were a few photos of his new Black Sky, complete with a prototype Stiky Lite front tyre. Pimp. Less than 500g according to the blog, aka "Not bad" (Current Stiky fronts are 695g).

Fresh (2010) produce

There's been some interest in these, and here's a sneaky peek at the 2010 Neon Bow mod frame. We've got them in this (awesome looking) red, and a shiny shiny silver. Should be up on the site soon!

Ali in Czech

Here's a little video of Ali riding at Dressler Camp earlier this year, earning a couple of wins (and as a direct result, the tyres which are now on my mod...).
