Tarty Weekender (Kinda)

Well, Matlock Quarry was pretty fun. So much so that I didn't really stop to take many photos - hence half the photos being in the car... Fail. Anyway, here's a short timeline of the day:

Car-centred energy.

If this doesn't mean anything to you, you lose.

Not the best weather to greet you.

A bunch of riding happened, then Stan brought out the Tarty Inflatable Sidehop Helper Rock and beasted this to rear:

Not to be outdone, Ali got involved too:

At around that point, I became so cold I couldn't feel feelings any more. Because I'm pro, I still filmed some awesomeness from Ali and a pretty sweet line that I basically bullied Stan into doing. Stay tuned for some full video action from those gents soon. Special mention needs to go out to the oldest looking 13-year-old I've ever seen, Jack Carthy, who was doing some mental stuff aboard his Onza Skull. It's not really surprising he's winning everything with skills like them.

And... that's it?

Neon Bow frames

We mentioned these before, but they're officially up and available to buy now in silver and red, long only.

Raid your piggy banks...

Now for something completely different...

This is something a bit unusual for a trials blog, but it's a pretty cool video that features a guy called Tate Roskelley doing some fairly unusual things. Yeah, it's BMX, but it's a pretty good reminder that there's more than one way to skin a cat...

...so to speak.

Tarty Weekender up later!

Quotes

Ali: "What did you do?"
Gav: "We put a lasagna on a cow's back. It just walked off into a field with a steaming lasagna on it's back."

Forum lurking.

At lunch time a bit of internet lurking tends to go on while food's being eaten and drinks are being drunk. Two gems from today included this video of Rick Koekoek riding Rotterdam for his sponsor Go Fast, and a video from the Spanish World Indoor mototrials round.

That mototrials video is insane...

Evolve

This video rules. Pure old school! For the newer riders this might not really mean much, but if you've been riding for a few years chances are you'll have seen this. I don't really know if it's available to buy any more, so here it is. Spotted it over on OTN!

Black 24 Incher (Oooh-errr)

We have been getting a few people asking if we'll be building a Black Adamant 24"... well, here it is (sort of, the eagle eyed will be able to spot a little Photoshop trickery...). Looks rather grand!

Sam Oliver

Sam Oliver is an absolute monster! Much like with Carles Diaz, we sell the complete bike Sam is riding in this video, so if you want to get ridiculously bouncy and powerful then you know what to do...

Sam rides for us and K-124.

New stuff..

In the last week we managed have to add over 30 new products! Example: Koxx Foxx 26" bike.

Have a scout about about and see what you think.

Danny MacAskill VW ad - part 2!

If you liked the Danny Mac ad we posted a few days ago - and you'd have to be mental not to - here's the "Making of" video. Check out the effort that VW have gone to! Go here to view it!

2XU Compression Clothing

As I speak (type?), we're uploading more of these products, but as a brief intro - we're now stocking 2XU compression clothing. We have the tights (in black) and long-sleeve tops (in black and in white) in stock currently. 2XU also make short sleeve tops, shorts and a massive range of other types of technical clothing, so check out their site here for a more complete idea of what's available - we're happy to order in anything you might want.

Skins are popular in the trials scene at the moment, so to give a comparison the 2XU clothing uses a higher rated denier material (50 denier compared to Skinz' 40 denier), which improves the efficiency of the clothing by providing a higher compression level. There's a hell of a lot more tech stuff up on the product pages to give you all the info you need when deciding which product to buy, so have a browse and see what suits you.

As you may have noticed, the Welsh one and I (Stan) have been adding plenty of new products to the site recently, over 20 new items in the last week! One of today's highlights is the new 2010 Terra helmet from Met. Looks sweet in red!

Cheap.

Pure (Royal) Fail

Another week, another strike. Tedious. Anyway, this week Royal Mail are holding a 3-day strike, going from Thursday to Saturday. As a result, we again recommend upgrading your First Class or ISF shipping to a courier service to ensure your orders get to you in good time.

Danny MacAskill

Danny MacAskill has got his fingers in many pies - this time, it's in a pretty amazing VW ad. Quite a lot of the time ad companies seem to not really 'get' riding, and don't really portray it in a great way, but this advert is filmed, edited and made in an awesome way. Definitely worth a watch!

(In case the video fails, click here!)

Mark

Inspired #854

Green and Gold this time. Very tasty, hope you like it Geoff!

Knowledge.

Earlier on today, I had to pick an order involving a set of spokes for a wheel. I wanted to check with Ads about the lengths, and simply by telling him the lengths of spoke he was able to tell me which cross for each side of the wheel, which hub, which rim, and which year...

...I'll just let that sink in for a while. Madness.

Mark

Brothers, Sisters and Cousins...

New additions to the Tarty box family: Frame box, 20" wheel box and fork/bar box.

As Mark would say: 'Packing time win' (or something with 'win', 'lose' or 'fail' at the end).

2riders1wall.com

Two photos from a little session in Bradford last weekend - both on my bike, first one's me backwheeling a wall with a pretty tight (i.e. less than 3/4 pedalstroke) run-up, and the other is Stan dominating a sidehop to backwheel. I would just like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of Stan's initial post about me going back to mod, and the bike he happens to be riding in this photograph.

Both photos were taken by Tim - cheers dude!

Hrm.

Caption competition?

Echo TR wheels.

These bad boys have been pretty popular in the all-black colourway, but here's a sneaky peek of them in the black/white colourway. Some seriously nice looking wheels, available in a kazillion different sizes and disc/non-disc options now...

Ballin'.

Everyone loves limited edition stuff, so if you've ever thought "Man, I would be really into some orange HS33 levers" - today is your lucky day:

Keep an eye out for the full orange sets that should be available soon. They come with a bunch of awesome freebies too, definitely worth it!

Ashton's Summer

Rowan put this video up today of Team Ashton's summer tour. Gives a pretty good feel for the shows!

Got some photos of a sweet new green Inspired going to one Mr. Rossi later on today - once Adam's got his new behemoth of a computer up and running it'll be all systems go! We'll also have an interesting contrast build too for another customer - another green Inspired, but with gold finishing kit. Should be interesting...

Pool Comp - The Results!

We played the final game of our Pool Comp tonight after work, with the two leaders facing each other in the final 2 games!

It was pretty close but we do have a winner... the final results are:

Ali: 1 win
Mark: 2 wins
Stan: 4 wins
Gav: 5 wins
Adam: 8 wins

Stay tuned for our next competition! Table tennis maybe?

Filming orders?

Steve A filming, Kenny and Stan playing pool, Ali riding? What's going on here?

Unrelated, but there's 45 boxes of Koxx/K-124 win sitting in the warehouse now. Chances are if you want something made by them that we now have it. Should be up on the site soon!

Danny MacAskill

Danny's had a mental year - since that video dropped back in April, sponsorship offers, job offers, trips and opportunities to clock up some airmiles have come in thick and fast. One of those job offers came from S1 Jobs, to film a recruiting video which you can view below:

That video's pretty old now, but this making of video has some fresh bits in it. Made by Dave Sowerby for S1, click here to check it out.

All this mention of Danny probably means our search engine traffic is going to go nuts...

Edit by Adam: But only if you put MacAskill as well :P haha!

Big time.

New vid for Red Bull from Mr. Tom Ohler (I don't know how to do that accent on the O...), doing some strizzeeeeet in NYC:

Shipping.

Like we said earlier in the week, Royal Mail strike action's fully on the go. If you've ordered anything First Class (Or ISF), it's going to take at least an extra 2 days to get to you. As a result, if you want your products sooner (e.g. if you want them for a ride this weekend), please make sure you choose courier delivery. Don't forget - order before our courier cut-off today and you'll have your bits before the weekend. Our couriers only deliver on Saturdays if you pay an extra cost, so today is the last time you can order something and have it arrive this week.
