2011 Magura HS33s

We were lucky enough to be shown the 2-finger and 4-finger HS33 brakes today for release later this year - there are a few obvious changes from the 2005 levers, making the brake much more functional than previously. With a re-designed lever body constructed out of Magura's own material, the actual body itself is stronger than ever, and a totally redesigned TPA means that almost all aspects of the lever have been improved. There are also a few neat features like a re-designed bleed port and a change in the fitting-style of the hoses - when the brake is officially launched we'll be able to show more, but until then these will have to do! From now on, all HS33s will feature a silver lever body with a choice of 4 colours of snap-on lever cover (black, silver, red or yellow), and the HS11s will feature a black body instead.

Most of the HS33s on sale right now have the updated shape slave cylinders, so a few of you might be familiar with them already.

When the brakes are officially launched we will be stocking these new models, and as a result full details with more detailed photos & information will be released on the site as soon as possible.

Atomz Elitis range

Slowly but surely, the new Atomz Elitis range is going up on the site. Click here to view it.

Also new from Gusset...

The Bastard grips have long been a big seller, and also happen to be Gav's favourite product name. Immature? Us?

Anyway - they're now also available in burgundy and purple to match yet more setups. The purple is quite a nice match with Deng's purple anodised parts. Hint hint.

Downer...

Fare thee well, Rainbow Bike. Moving on to pastures new, and a loving home.

New products and new media!

By the way, I mean "new media" as in "a cool new video" rather than the turdy university academic sense of the word.

Firstly - new products on the home page, as well as some re-stocks of popular older items.

Inspired team rider Sean Watson also has a sweet new brakeless vid out - only a couple of months after his last but with plenty of signs of improvement already. Good stuff!

Lee Quarry

Lee Quarry is approximately as much fun as a barrel full of monkeys. That's a lot of fun, in case you were in any doubt. They've created a little video advert type thing featuring some XC and trail riding, but also some clips of Stan and Ali C. Only a couple of lines, but the video does show some of the other fun stuff there too. There's so many bits to explore - especially for trials - that it's definitely worth a visit!

There's also the Singletrack Weekender this weekend, which features a 3-part comp involving some trials sections, a DH race and an XC race - the catch being that you have to use the same bike for all parts of it. As a result, if you're a trials rider who also happens to pootle about on a "proper" bike from time to time, you're in with a chance... Click here for details.

Big time?

Ali C had to cruise down to London a few months ago to get filmed stealing drinks from established cycling celebrities. This is the result - probably one of the better trials/"stunt" riding related adverts so far?

New T-shirt colours!

New T's are in, although Purple's still available.

Pro-Carbon Racing Downtube Protector

Brand new in, the Pro-Carbon Racing Downtube Protector is a super lightweight way of making your frame last longer. Stan's been (unintentionally!) hammering his for weeks now, and it's held up amazingly well. Just watch the video for proof!

More details available here.

Finally, not so much titanium, just a very pimp and well thought out lever to fit HS33 brakes.

Born bars

Born's new carbon fibre risers are out. They're... er... "inspired" by another bar out there, but fractionally narrower. Available in red, yellow and (not available yet) white.

New French rubber (Pt.1)

Pt.1? Yeah, well, got the new Try-All tyres in too so they'll be up imminently. In the mean time, Michelin have a couple of new tyres that we reckon would go pretty well on a stock - the Wild Rock'r 2.4" rear and the Wild Grip'r 2.1" front. Good compound, pretty light, good reviews from riders using them so far - check 'em!
