Trials course

Blog post bonanza?

Couple of pics, firstly of part of the un-swept, un-finished, rough-as-hell trials course as it was a few hours ago - secondly, one of Ali's random drawings. As a little hint, if the "Checked by" bit on your receipt has a weird drawing on it, it's him.

Tom Rankin

Tom Rankin doesn't mess about.

Almost there!

Trials course is well underway, managed to fix/repair/bodge about a third so far and with only minor injuries too! Plus I managed to draw a cat, so its all good!

Quotes from Stan...

Just a quote from Stan as we're clearing the trials course after hours...

"You need to get Anal's big bad boy out."

I hate rain.

One of the perks of this job is the access to the indoor trials course we have here at Tarty HQ which can soften the blow of rainy, cold evenings. Unfortunately, due to the amount of building work that one Al Fel has put in, there's a load of 'stuff' of various kinds over the majority of the trials course. However, the new office has opened up a few new lines that Ali took care of yesterday. As an added bonus, and to help gauge the height of the drop, we put up the Trials-Forum Tape Measure. Enjoy...

And to please the Health and Safety inspectors, Ali avoided the dangerously nail-filled rubble with a gap to pallet stack.

We've done stickers, we've done T-shirts, we've done hoodies, we've done chainstay protectors - now flat caps?

Mark's Atomz Premier

Here's my setup too - first stock I've had!

Spec is pretty much the standard Atomz Premier, but with a Trialtech booster, TNN LGM pads, Trialtech bars, Tensile 96-click freewheel, Atomz cut-down bashring and some Monty grips. It weighs in at 10.68kg according to the hyper-accurate Tarty Scales of Justice.

Stan's Echo Urban

As promised (Well, sort of) yesterday, here's Stan's awesome Echo Urban 24". It's fully the shorter stem that makes this bike ride so good - well worth trying out if you're wanting to make your 24 feel a bit more BMXy.

The bike was built mainly from stuff we had lying about the warehouse, like the wheels and cranks for example.

Short spec as follows:

Frame & Fork - Echo Urban 24"
Wheels - Tioga rims, Try-all hubs, Kenda K-rad tires
Brakes - Magura HS33 with black pads. My old Tarty/Hope Monotrial
Drivetrain - Try-all cranks, Trialtech pedals, Echo bash and freewheel
Steering - Rockman bars and a short Onza stem

For those who care - and Stan would probably want me to point it out - it weighs in at 10kg. Pretty light for a good, strong 24" build!

Shiny...

The new shipment of frames, bits and pieces from K-124 came in early this morning, featuring amongst other things a proto super light tyre from Koxx, and the new Hydroxx frames. Veeeery nice. They've still got to be counted out, put up on the site and so on so give us a few days and you can place orders to your hearts content. They'll be worth the wait... (Oh, and speaking of orders, we've pretty much caught up with the orders from the long weekend we had sorting out the warehouse/office, so your bits 'n' pieces should be with you soon if you ordered Friday-Sunday)

Stan built himself up a sweet Echo Urban a few weeks ago, with a slightly different setup to most. Pics will be up tomorrow, but it's officially the best riding 24 in the UK/world. That's scientific fact!

Totally unrelated, but TRA is an absolute beast. This is his new Caelifera video, and it's well worth a watch. To quote Jeremy Clarkson, "Pooowwwweeeeer!"

Tarty Weekender

After a pretty hectic week at work, Ali and I decided to have a bit of time off and get some riding in. We put the bikes in the back of the Renault and headed over to Shipley Glen, where we happened to bump into Mr. #3 In The World, Ben Slinger. It was my first time there, and it's a pretty crazy place to say the least. So much to ride! Ali wasn't having much fun though, and as a direct result of that, Ali's helmet is now in a tree, somewhere in Shipley Glen. As a bit of a comp, the first person to send in a photo of them holding Ali's battered lid will win something off one of the desks here at Tarty HQ. Anyway, helmet throwing aside, we got to witness the Slinger Show, and he didn't disappoint. I got a few cheeky photos of some of the stuff he was pulling, and bear in mind this is just stuff he was doing to pass some time 'til a demo later that day in Leeds. Ridiculous... (Click the photos to make 'em bigger!)

Everyone at Shipley Glen

What a lucky girl...

Photos don't really do this justice. Beast.

Hefty sidehop.

The weather on Sunday was a bit sketchy, and so we decided to stay pretty local and headed over to Back Cowm. There was a 4x4 day on, which meant we had to wear some pretty sweet looking orange hi-viz vests. Although that sucked, we did get to see a pretty much continuous line of Land Rovers and Range Rovers get stuck in one of the most rancid swamps I've ever seen. Ali got some pretty sweet bicycle manoeuvres done, and I got some not-so-good photos done. Better next time?

Tech gap to front/90.

Beasty gap to rear.
A different, although still pretty beasty gap to rear.

Getting all moto-trials - big roll up to manny.

Gap to hook to two.

Next weekend is the Shipley comp, so expect some more photos from there early next week!
