Goggles on, safety first...

Sea of Echo

Our Echo order has arrived! Everything should be unpacked and on the site in time for the weekend... If you're waiting for stuff like Lite frames, SL freewheels, Lite Bashplates, TR Disc Hubs or Urban Forks then you're in luck :-)

Lightest rim evaaarrz.

The new Viz Square-Hole 26" rim happens to be the lightest we sell, at a ridonkulous 584g.

The 19" counterpart is 1g off the lightest (the Trialtech SL), weighing in at 410g.

"Twenny Fow."

We've got some new items to stop your 24" bike from scraping along the floor when you try and ride along - the new TR 24" wheels from Echo. Available in a choice of disc or non-disc fronts, and non-disc rears, with either white or black rims. Pretty snazzy looking wheels, a pretty economical solution if you're trying to build up a 24.

Lids 'n' bits

Two new Fox lids are up on the site, the Flux (As worn in that Danny Mackaskill video) and the Transition. Go check 'em out!

Speaking of checking things out - we've updated the site a little so you can now see what staff members like Mark and Gav are running on their own personal setups. Some food for thought, maybe!

Hot and cold...

This frame is very much like Sarah Jessica Parker - some people think she looks amazing, some people think she's a hound. Remember - beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

The TMS Evo 3, available now...

D3O - Amazing!

Video says it all...

Ribo Lites!

Got some eeeeexclusive stuff right here - Tartybikes ONLY Ribo Lite shoes. These are a tweak on the original Ribos - to our specification - that include the removal of the ratcheting system. We've found that taking this ratchet system off means that the shoe itself is a lot more flexible and supple (Without a big wodge of ratchet clip on it), and you don't run the risk of bottoming out the ratchet when the shoes stretch a bit from new. Equally, we've flipped the Velcro over so it's the other way up to usual, meaning it's easier to pull the wrap-over tongue tighter without getting the laces stuck to the tongue. An additional bonus of this larger tongue is improved waterproofing, as the top of the shoe is totally covered by the tongue rather than having a gap over the central part of the top of the shoe on the older models.

One of the flipsides of having the ratchet removed is also that the weight of the shoe is dropped down so they're the lightest trials shoes by about 101g or so (120g lighter than the previous model we stocked). They weigh in at a paltry 546g (for a 42). That, in case you were wondering, is actually nothing.

Available now in a range of sizes. In case you were wondering, these are the shoes that Ads and Stan have been spotted riding in a lot recently.

Tarty Weekender...

Well it was a very wet and windy Sunday morning and we had planned to ride Shipley but some car issues and crap weather meant a change of plan and so we rode Birchwood business park which has a surprising amount of stuff to ride! Turned out to be a good decision and Adam and I (Stan) both had very good rides indeed! We also grabbed a bunch of photos from the day. Here are my 2 faves, but for more (19 in all) check the topic on Trials-forum.

Toni Bou

:-O

Product Work.

Again Mark and I (Stan) have been double teaming the new products so to speak. Over 20 new items added!

One of the highlights was this sweet 949 snow camo frame.

Theories.

Apparently Lotus's theory behind their cars is "Simplify, then add lightness." That seems to be the idea behind the 2010 Trialtech rims - now with single-walled rear rims too, and with all rims featuring valve holes drilled on the seam of the rim, and laser etched Trialtech graphics. They're currently the lightest rear rims we sell* - no mean feat! I've been running a proto model for a while now and it's been faultless, as has Stan on his stock. Quality products.

Crucial linkages: 19", 20", 26" front, 26" rear.

*The lightest rear rim on site is the Atomz Elitis for stocks, but they're not available yet.

New Staff?

Lucy (Adam's dog) has come in for the day! Here she is giving Stan a hard time trying to steal most of his lunch...

Any more tail wagging and I think it's gonna fall off!

More Danny Macaskill?

Believe. Just a short interview done by "Aplexfilms" from what I can tell!

New Hydroxx's'z's'x's'z'z's

We've had some of the new Hydroxx LT frames lurking here for a bit, and they're finally up on the site. They look amazing, ride super nicely, and their RRP is almost the Devil's number (Which is generally a sign of win).

It's almost Christmas, treat yourself...

(P.S. We'll have some photos of the Hydroxx LT bikes up later - the Hydroxx LT frame built up onto some of the finest parts K-124 make in front HS33 and front disc options.)

Voodoo video?

Every time Eddie Tongue goes to pedal in this video, Ali feels pain. No joke. That's just how UCI he is.

Ooooold school!

Another frame... shame...

Previous bike: ZOO! Lynx Long... New bike below.

So far I've found the BB rise and short chainstay makes it fine for bunnyhopping, but the extra length/room over a 'short' mod is nice.

Geo: 1025, 350, 610 reach, +80 BB (with Try-All fork). Bike weight: 8.08kg, frame 1.45kg.

Hopefully some riding photos will be taken tonight... (weather permitting!)

Adam

Comparison.

This is a goat, balancing on a cup on a tightrope, with a monkey doing a handstand on it's head.

These are the new Neon cranks (£67.53, bargain).

That is all.

Video guides

We've been working on this for a while but keeping it reasonably under wraps, but now it's all live - we've got a huge range of Video Guides on our site now to help you choose your new parts, help maintain them and generally keep your bike running well. It's well worth checking out, so head over there and check Adam's sweet presenting skills!

You can find the guides on either the Product Pages or the side bar on the Home Page.

Tarty Weekender (Kinda)

Well, Matlock Quarry was pretty fun. So much so that I didn't really stop to take many photos - hence half the photos being in the car... Fail. Anyway, here's a short timeline of the day:

Car-centred energy.

If this doesn't mean anything to you, you lose.

Not the best weather to greet you.

A bunch of riding happened, then Stan brought out the Tarty Inflatable Sidehop Helper Rock and beasted this to rear:

Not to be outdone, Ali got involved too:

At around that point, I became so cold I couldn't feel feelings any more. Because I'm pro, I still filmed some awesomeness from Ali and a pretty sweet line that I basically bullied Stan into doing. Stay tuned for some full video action from those gents soon. Special mention needs to go out to the oldest looking 13-year-old I've ever seen, Jack Carthy, who was doing some mental stuff aboard his Onza Skull. It's not really surprising he's winning everything with skills like them.

And... that's it?

Neon Bow frames

We mentioned these before, but they're officially up and available to buy now in silver and red, long only.

Raid your piggy banks...

Now for something completely different...

This is something a bit unusual for a trials blog, but it's a pretty cool video that features a guy called Tate Roskelley doing some fairly unusual things. Yeah, it's BMX, but it's a pretty good reminder that there's more than one way to skin a cat...

...so to speak.

Tarty Weekender up later!
